Culinary Training

Enriching Our Area's Food Service

Because tourism is such a vital industry to our region's economic well-being, ensuring a world-class culinary scene is equally as essential. That's why the Fund for Northern Tier Development is taking a proactive approach. We're committed to empowering local hospitality by investing in the skills of our current and future food industry workforce.

Recently, we partnered with Northern Pennsylvania Regional College to gain invaluable insights. Through surveys with over 100 employers and kitchen managers across Potter, Bradford, and Tioga counties, along with focused group discussions, we're pinpointing the specific needs of our local food service industry.

​

After reviewing the results of the survey, NPRC and the FNTD worked together to hold Culinary Boot Camps in August of 2024. These courses gave students a great opportunity to learn about the culinary industry and how to apply specific techniques to create specialized dishes.

​

The FNTD will continue to work with local organizations to bridge any skill gaps and ensure exceptional hospitality experiences become the hallmark of the Northern Tier.
